Primal Pet Food: We at Plumridge have chosen to feed Primal Pet Food to all our dogs.  Primal is a San Francisco based company that I found at a dog show in January 2002.  I took home some samples and discovered it looked very much like what I prepared, but it contained more supplements and a wider variety of ingredients (not to mention that the dogs loved it!).  We have fed this diet since then with wonderful results.  I also have become the South San Francisco Bay Distributor for Primal Pet Foods ( www.primalpetfoods.com ).  Primal does cost a bit more than preparing your own raw diet, but it's an excellent food, rated as complete and balanced by AAFCO (the organization that rates nutrition in dog foods) and is extremely convenient!  It is a frozen product, and comes in several package sizes.  In addition to feeding Primal, we also feed raw meaty bones to all our dogs.  This includes raw chicken wings, raw marrow bones, etc.  Please remember-these bones must be raw!  Cooked chicken bones will splinter and are very dangerous to your dog.  Raw bones are softer, and it is the crunching action of bone on teeth that keeps the teeth so clean and pearly white.
